that's a nice thing to do. while we were oversease, we didn't really celebrate because mine and my husband's families couldn't afford the trip to come see us. you should get in contact with the closest base, and see if other families are doing the same thing. or some community on base is. lots of families do that, and It's so nice of them. deployments are hard, specially for spouses, i know, I've been trought that. How do you go about finding a military family to host for Christmas dinner?aww thats nice someone did that for us this past christmas....try asking the red crossHow do you go about finding a military family to host for Christmas dinner?

I think that's awfully nice of you. I'd try the local USO or the nearest military post. Whoever recommended Focus on the Family-WTH?? They have nothing to do with the military. Get a clue!
It sounds like you are going about this all wrong. They are not charity cases, they are mostly from loving families and would probably like to spend time with them. I'm sure your intentions are not to offend anybody but the way your question is worded it suggest that. You can sponsor a family or soldier over seas and there are many organizations mostly christian that will help you in that area. Try contacting Focus on the Family in Colorado Springs ,CO they can help you.
