Unlike beleivers who tend to be extra 'christian' during the holidays...and tend to be 'nonchristian' the rest of the time.
Especially those who overdo the 'decorations,etc'.Christmas??
As a christian myself, I have found both nonbelievers %26amp; believers often overdo the celebrating...(and I mean comments %26amp; actions, not the partying).

I celebrate the traditions my family has had for years and my personal "celebration" part is that I enjoy the season; it's pretty with the lights and the snow, people are usually nice, giving presents is fun (so is receiving), I get time off of work, etc...
We are having two celebrations this year-one on the 17th and one on the 25th. Would it make you feel better if I chose the last day of hannakah to do this?
Does not matter what you call it, its celebration is taken from many sources. I just call it Xmas.Christmas??

Sure, it's a fun gig. And as mentioned in previous answers, it actually started as a Pagan holiday, like Easter.
No. Christmas is about Satan, I mean Santa Claus who only gives you gifts if your good. I mean what better message to send to kids instead of Jesus being born on this Earth and giving us the free gift of eternal life despite being naughty people. Isn't lying to your children about an obese man who breaks into your house at night and judges your children a better story to tell?
Christians stole the holiday of winter solstice and re-named it Christmas.
Just like they stole the winter solstice holiday of people in the southern hemisphere and re-named it St John's Day.
Note--the Bible gives no birthdate for Christ (or St John).

Although some people consider it strictly as a religious holiday and holy day, most people consider it a cultural holiday as well in North American and Europe. Many non-Christians celebrate Christmas as a cultural holiday and put up Christmas lights, Christmas tree and exchange gifts, etc. Yule is a pagan holiday that has been celebrated far longer than Christmas and most of the traditions of Christmas are pagan.
Anybody can celebrate the Yuletide.
Christians really didn't know exactly when Jesus was born. So theyhijacked the pagan fest of Saturnia and tried to Christianize it. Before this it was called the fest of the unquenchable sun. It was set when the days were no longer getting shorter but you could just barely tell they were starting to get longer again.
The use of evergreens, Yule logs, lights, gifts, parties, drinking spirits, egg-nog, and more had no Christian origin. They came from the pagan period.
Nowadays, the same season celebrates Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, etc... So, is the Christmas season, really, really about Christ??? Maybe not exactly.
Christmas is a pagan holiday. And yes, I, as a non believer celebrate it. It really has nothing to do with Christianity or the celebration of Christ. It's a purely commercialized holiday. I celebrate to give and receive gifts and spend time with family.
I know of a few who are non-religous, but celibrate Christmas. It's the spirir of the holiday in general. It has nothing to do with getting more loot.
