The reason for Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. I believe in him, and if we die and then experience void, why do people have near death experiences even when they're brain dead? The answer: there is an afterlife.



Christmas used to be celebrated in April, May, or September until it was December 25th for everyone. Winter solstice was already celebrated in December anyway, so they probably thought why not celebrate both at the same time.
