Where is a fun christmas getaway spot in New England to stay over night?

Im thinking of taking a mini 3 night vacation on or right after christmas. Whats some good fun romantic spots for a young 20's couple? Im thinking like NH ice skating or a nice country spot.Where is a fun christmas getaway spot in New England to stay over night?well. There is a place in Maine that is really popular. There is Lucerne Inn... it's an inn over looking a lake. It's a bit pricey but it's nice. A lot of people get married there because it's so beautiful. There is a golf course (not in the winter.



Not too far from there is a place called Bar Harbor. It's a nice town with many little shops and such. Christmas is off season for Bar Harbor so you can get a really nice room at a B%26amp;B for really cheap. A cheap but nice place is Atlantic Oakes hotel/ motel/ B%26amp;B. The three cats B%26amp;B is gorgeous and right in town.



Also, a place called Camden is nice. It's very expensive, but if you have the money.. it's worth it.



Belfast is nice too, it's an Ocean town with unique shops.



Orono is cool as well. It's where the university is, so there are loads of activities. You can rent skis on campus and go on one of the many cross country skiing trails. It also has nice little shops. Eat at margaritas... their food is delicious and their margs are awesome.



Those are the places that most non-mainers like to visit. But be prepared. Maine is really cold in the winter, make sure you have many warm clothes. And since winter is off season, most of maine either opens at 4 and closes at 8, or opens at 8 and closes at 5.

i would pick somewhere in vermont over the other choices mentioned so far....any quaint town (burlington, stowe, woodstock, bennington) will be full of xmas charm--horse drawn sleigh rides, skiing, tubing, maple farms, ben %26amp; jerry's tour...nowhere beats vermont during christmas timeWhere is a fun christmas getaway spot in New England to stay over night?Well, its not really New England, technically, but my husband and I are planning a little get away to Lake Placid, NY. definitely look in the white mountains, great for outdoor recreation, not necessarily skiing, great scenary, I love the Mt Washington Hotel, but there are plenty of small bed and breakfasts as well.
