My parents stopped doing this long ago. Basically, they were just going into the same bank account and buying things they thought the other person wanted. Now, if they want something throughout the year, they just buy it. They just enjoy spending time together and visting family for Christmas.How many married couples still buy gifts for each other at Christmas?I'd say during the initial years of marriage people who are looking for opportunities to buy each other gifts would do it, but later their children become their priority and later on, just living a normal life without any health issues becomes priority. Then the gifts stop coming.
