How do I make my prelit Christmas tree lights blink?

I have a Philips Stanton prelit 9ft Christmas tree. Bought it 2 yrs ago but never used it. This year I discovered the lights on the tree don't blink (and they weren't supposed to). All the lights work just fine, but I want them to twinkle, blink, whatever. I don't want to add more lights- that's why I bought a PRELIT tree. How can I change the lights already there? Can I buy those red topped blinking lights seperately? How do I make my prelit Christmas tree lights blink?I think the tree you have has the mini plug in style of bulbs. There are bulbs available that you can install in place of the steady glow bulbs that act as a small electronic switch. When the bulb gets hot it opens and then closes when it cools. This is the blinking effect. Depending on where you insert it into the string, will dictate which part of the string and how many lights will blink. If you remove bulbs, one at a time, you will see where the start of each segment of the string is. That is where you want to insert the switching bulb. I would think the local hardware store or where ever you purchased your tree, would have the bulbs.

Merry ChristmasHow do I make my prelit Christmas tree lights blink?Google tinkernut and browse for christmas stuff, or just google different ways to make lights play to music. May not be what your looking for, but sounds like you want something different from the normal lights. The info youll find will show you how to plug your lights into an older style stereo if you have one handy, or how to wire up a older set of computer speakers so you can have your lights blink in accordance to music, stuff like that.

Now if that is too complex for ya, you should be able to just pick up a "blinking" style bulb that matches what you have already, will be red tipped. You should only need to replace the very first bulb that is closest to the plug. If you have more than one string together then do the same for the next series. That first bulb will affect the pulsing of the entire string. Give it a bit to warm up and start working. How do I make my prelit Christmas tree lights blink? If blinking is an option, somewhere in the cord should be a little box or something that lets you change the settings. May be hidden towards the bottom of the tree somewhere. It doesn't have anything to do with the lights that are on the tree already. You need a control that will make them blink. How do I make my prelit Christmas tree lights blink?
