Frying a turkey for Christmas Eve lunch...what are good side dishes instead of the usual taters and cranberry?

We're just craving something different this year. We've already been to several Christmas/Thanksgiving dinners...we've had our fill of mashed potatoes, gravy, peas, cranberry sauce.Frying a turkey for Christmas Eve lunch...what are good side dishes instead of the usual taters and cranberry?try green bean casserole, broccoli casserole, sweet potato souffle', baked macaroni %26amp; cheese or squash casserole.. It's our tradition to forego the mashed potatoes, substituting them with white rice. (Jazz up your rice by using swanson's broth or the broth from a baked ham/turkey instead of the water in cooking the rice) ...We also make corn/okra/tomato soup or gumbo....Since you are frying your turkey...grilled eggplant, squash or zucchini might be something to consider...

An appetizer cheese/sliced meat tray with crackers or hillshire little smokey's add a little flair to the party as well....hope these ideas helped...Happy Holiday's!!Frying a turkey for Christmas Eve lunch...what are good side dishes instead of the usual taters and cranberry?http://www.recipesforvegans.co.uk/sidedi鈥?/a>Frying a turkey for Christmas Eve lunch...what are good side dishes instead of the usual taters and cranberry?I know what you mean. I mean, I like the food we fix for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but it gets tiresome after a while. Anytime I need ideas for something different, I go to www.recipeatlas.com. They have a wide selection of recipes from around the world. I can't tell you any specific ones because I don't know what people like and don't like, and I have no idea if anyone has any food allergies, but you can go there, and it'll have some great ideas. Trust me.
