you could use in the main qualitative methods (interview local police, youth sport co-ordinators, young people) to give you some depth into the issues surrounding youth crime in that area.
You could take a sample figure of number of incidents before the summer, one during the summer and one after to compare, giving you much stronger evidence to call on. as you would have both quan and qual data.
