I am slow with understanding math and I hate chemisty. Can I be a doctor?

I have good memorization, I love medical related stuff. I am not afraid of blood. I like subjects such as anatomy, biology, and environmental sciences but I have equation related sciences such as physics and chemistry. I am very slow at understanding math. I get the problems right but a problem that takes 5 minutes will take almost 15 minutes for me.

I am concerned. I may go for journalism. Just deciding if this would hinder me.I am slow with understanding math and I hate chemisty. Can I be a doctor? The answer's simple: Go for it.

If you have that much of good memorization, and you need help, go for it!!! If you're going to take initiative to remedy the problem yourself, and not wait until someone corrects it during a quiz or test, go for it!!!!

I currently attend Penn State as a freshman, and I love math!! The problem is, since my HS teacher didn't do trigonometry well, I don't understand half of what Calculus is, which is a no-no!!! I suffer, but I don't let that deter me from being who I want to be. I get all the help I need, from tutors, friends, and even professors (go to their office hours; it's the best thing you can do when you go to college), but if you're not there yet, search for numerous hot lines and center where tutoring is free or of low cost. In the end, the choice is yours, but choosing to act upon it now will reward you with great things during your life. Hey, maybe you'll even get a Nobel Peace Prize for your work!!! Go for it with the courage to ready yourself, because it isn't easy; it'll only get harder!!I am slow with understanding math and I hate chemisty. Can I be a doctor?
There's an old saying:

Sociology is really psychology and psychology is really biology and biology is really chemistry and chemistry is really physics and physics is really math and math is really hard.

Having said that, there are a number of medical jobs that pay well, have good prestige, but are not an MD. Pharmacy comes to mind with your ability to memorize facts and such. Of course, there's a fair bit of chemistry, math, and biology in that, too. There are few hard sciences (hard meaning based on rigorous, empirical data, not to imply difficulty) that don't have a fair bit of math in them. There are other jobs that are also interesting. Think about genetic counseling (google it), midwifery (certified nurse midwives are similar to nurse practitioners in that they have the RN, plus additional training), or other not-quite-MD medical jobs.

I wouldn't give up on a strong desire. Many times, once you get over the course work, you can have a successful career that doesn't require the time-consuming math all the time. You just have to get through the degree.I am slow with understanding math and I hate chemisty. Can I be a doctor? You seem passionate about medicine and about becoming a doctor. Math-related sciences are only a part of the skills you will need, and just because it might be a little bit more challenging for you, you should still pursue it.

Not everyone is good at everything. So don't worry; just try your best and follow your dreams.I am slow with understanding math and I hate chemisty. Can I be a doctor?
you are in h.s? TRy and learn as much as you can on science and math...even if it takes you ten minutes to add 1+1...the point is that you can do it.

as for journalism, I dont think you should because is dying off...many are freelancers and now people have blogs - free news.I am slow with understanding math and I hate chemisty. Can I be a doctor? No hours and days without studying and make exercise to solv the problem for math, physics and chemistry until you'll become a doctorate student in the next year. All of the medical science need a studying hard and exercise hard, dear honey.I am slow with understanding math and I hate chemisty. Can I be a doctor?
Yes you can be a doctor! I would reccommend chemistry and math tutoring though. Also it'll be helpful to network with some doctors at a local clinic or hospital to help advise you.I am slow with understanding math and I hate chemisty. Can I be a doctor?
You know what may really help you is a math tutor. This may help you work out problems faster which will make you more confident.
