Environmental responsibilities?

can someone help me out finding two companies that within the 2 past years that have been in the news for environmental issues. I have to write a paper on them and some of the ones I can not use are like Poland Spring, Microsoft, Ben %26amp; Jerry, Walmart, Coca Cola, Nike and Starbucks. I have been doing research but can't come up with anything that was really good, does anyone know of a company who's had some problems.Environmental responsibilities?For being bad for the environment or good for the environment?



A company that has had many issues and it's been very publicized about how they cover their tracks is the Oklahoma company Kerr McGee. There was even a movie about an incident with that company called "Silkwood." A lot of the stuff on them is older (1980s), such as the incident re-created in "Silkwood" but it does highlight a lot of the issues with the dangers of nuclear power which is very relevant today.



Another industry that has had some very bad environmental problems in recent years is the poultry farming industry. It's a big problem in Arkansas. Some of the companies would be Tyson and OK Farms.



If you are looking for environmentally - friendly companies, a good idea would be to look at the organic companies that are going more mainstream, like Annie's Homegrown (they donate some of their profits to green energy), Horizon Organics, etc. Maybe even the Whole Foods grocery chain itself - like their use of re-usable bags, sale of organic foods, etc.



You could also look at how mainstream companies like Chlorox are trying to go green with things like GreenWorks.
